CNN anchor Don Lemon broke-down on-air Monday night, weeping after reading a letter he had personally written to President Trump and the Gold Star Widow of a slain soldier; saying he felt “compelled” after the President “called her a liar.”
Lemon’s monologue trashed President Trump over recent allegations from liberal Congresswoman Frederica Wilson that he had made “insensitive” remarks to the widow of a soldier recently killed in Niger.
“Mr. Trump, please stop it. Please stop it,” begged Lemon. “Think of what Sergeant Johnson would want. You are putting his widow in the terrible position of having to fight for her dignity when she should be concentrating on taking care of herself.”
“I know you have children,” he added. “Can you imagine Ivanka or Tiffany […] having to fight with the Commander-in-Chief while they are pregnant and grieving? If Myeshia Johnson is mad at you… take it.”
“The only Gold Star families you have attacked are people of color, how does that look?” asked Lemon.
