Since Roger Goodell became the NFL commissioner he acted like he is above everyone. Sadly, he wasn’t doing a good job as a commissioner, failing every step of the way. Remember how badly he handled the Ray Rice domestic abuse case? He never recovered from that.
Also, he didn’t handle the national anthem fiasco as he should’ve, all he had to do when Kaepernick sat was enforce one rule in the NFL manual.
The NFL’s game operations manual reads, “all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem” and must “stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking” or face discipline “such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s).” NFL only punishes players for dancing in the end zone but allows them to break the rules regarding the national anthem.
But Goodell didn’t do that. Instead, he left the payers to do whatever they liked to kneel, sit, hide in the locker room. His decision sent a message to the fans that the league doesn’t care about the national anthem and all it stands for.
As a response, approximately 60 percent of the fans declared they will watch less NFL.
Goodell also has issues with the owners because he lost them so much money for no good reason.
According to some sources Jerry Jones is planning to make a big move against Goodell that will please many patriots.
Jerry Jones is threatening to sue the league and other team owners over negotiations to extend Goodell’s contract. Jones told the team owners, who are on the league’s compensation committee, that he hired David Boies, a well-known attorney.
Apparently, Jones has the support of the other owners, otherwise, he wouldn’t have hired a lawyer if he was on his own.
