Rep. Frederica Wilson is nowhere to be found for days now, apparently, the Miami Democrat is hiding from Trump supporters.
Since the last week when she attacked the president for the awkward phone call he had with the wife of Sgt. La David Johnson, who died on October in the Niger ambush, she found herself being the target of threats.
Oct, 12 was the last time Wilson voted, and since then she missed 19 votes between Monday, Oct. 23 and Wednesday, Oct. 25.
Rep. Alcee Hastings believes Wilson will return to the White House next week.
“She’s home,” the Fort Lauderdale Democrat stated. “I have not spoken with her about it, but I’ve heard that she’s received substantial death threats and I think she is doing everything she can to ratchet down and let some of us, including me, take over.”
It was confirmed by a source close to Wilson that there is an ongoing investigation into the threats against the Congresswoman.
The police are investigating a Facebook by a man, who lives in the area of Chicago, saying Wilson should be lynched.
“Need ten good men to help carry out a lynching,” the post read. “Must have own horse and saddle. Rope will be provided. This congresswoman [sic] is a disgusting pig. Someone should take their boot to her face.”
Wilson accused Trump of being insensitive when he talked to the Gold Star widow, she claimed he told Myeshia Johnson that her husband “knew what he signed up for but it hurts anyway.”
Even though she received a lot of criticism, the Democrats stand by her comments.
“Despite President Trump’s suggestion that I have recanted my statement or misstated what he said, I stand firmly by my original account of his conversation with Myeshia Johnson, the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson,” she said in the statement. “Moreover, this account has been confirmed by family members who also witnessed Mr. Trump’s incredible lack of compassion and sensitivity.”
